The animation got selected for the 2022 Taste of Tippecanoe event to be projected onto the courthouse (with around a thousand spectators)!
Reflection
Overall, the experience has been quite rewarding. I’ve learned the mathematics behind the formation of kaleidoscopic patterns and how they’re simply made up of sectors placed at different geometric angles to reflect the basic image while forming entirely different patterns with every angle change. So, through the whole process I have been able to create a tessellation-on-tessellation animation. It’s amazing how a simple pattern made of different polygons can be used to create such mesmerizing elaborate patterns which can be used for architectural tiling. I’ve always been curious about how architects of historical monuments created symmetrical patterns that were so unique and captivating, and now I’ve been able to create one of my own!
